The backstory

It started with RSI and a bad dictation app.

We spend most of our day typing. Code. Emails. Slack messages. Docs. After a while, the wrists start complaining. We started looking for a dictation solution that would let us talk instead of type — especially for the surrounding work: the PR descriptions, the standup updates, the meeting notes.

The Mac options were great. Superwhisper, Wispr Flow — polished, fast, well thought out. But we're on Windows. The Windows options were either decade-old legacy software built for command-and-control voice computing, or cloud-only tools that wanted to relay our voice through their servers. Neither felt right.

So we built Sollsolly. The name doesn't mean anything — it's memorable, it's ours, and we like it. The product does mean something: hotkey anywhere, speak, get clean text at your cursor. Local Whisper on your GPU, optional AI cleanup through whatever model you choose, paste strategy that actually works in the apps you use every day.

We're not a big company. We're a small team that builds tools we use ourselves. Sollsolly is the dictation tool we wish we'd had three years ago. We're building it into the tool we'll still be using three years from now.
